The first quattroporte(s) arrived in vancouver. I was promised the first one (silver) besides the demo (metallic black) but apparently an aquamarine got shipped together with the black.

Saw the metallic black one in person today. AMAZING. for those who thought on pictures it look like a buick, forget it. It can never be mistaken as a buick. the car has 65km on it so the demo was a short drive. met black, black, moonroof, rear sensors, 19".

The exterior is amazing. the pictures dont do it justice. the light dances along its lines. it is more like a sculpture. the 7er looks (Ewwww!) compare to it. and the S looks boring compare to it. Black is a high maintenance color but the guys at the dealership did a great job making a mirror polish to it. simple stunning.

The interior is excellent from what you expect from maserati's. the leather smell is less than in the coupes. everything and more is there. i personally do not like black leather interior so it did nothing for me as far as the color is concerned. also the headliner should really be alcantara or leather for that matter. the steering wheel feels nice and the dash is lively. trunk is small compare to something like a 5er or E or A6.

Not much i can say about the handling and the engine - the drive was up and down the block (brand new car,.. not run it... rush hour.. their $150k car.. )

Needs time to really explore the car..

Here is a picture for you.

If you are really interested in the car, it would be nice to go take a look. please kindly wait until they are ready to show it to you. no test pilot please. go talk to Kirk and tell him John sent you. ;)

Kinda reminds me of the VW Phaeton....speaking of, I just read in Newsweek that the Bentley GT is built on the same platform as the Phaeton now that VW bought the company...I sure hope they dont start making Lamborghini's on the same platform as a Bug or something.

my Cayenne I believe is on the Tourreg "something VW" chassis. But they build a quality car.
