Also see another interesting French car from the Hachette Vintage European Collection, a 1/24th 1965 Matra Bonnet Djet. You heard it here first as no one in France knows about it yet other than the distributor :) Also the 1963 Corvette is out with no opening doors. I have to say this might be the most accurate 1963 Corvette model I have seen in 1/24th or 1/25th scale, and that includes the kits.

Here is the latest update on the historic French series. Some interesting cars with very accurate bodies and no opening features for collectors more interested in accuracy than playing with them.

The Panhard, Alpine A310 and Peugeot 504 wich I think is the 2 door coupe all sound great.

More photos of the cars from the Vintage Collection. They seem to be doing a lot of the old Solido's brought up to 1/24th scale. Very good quality, I dare say as good as Tamiya in shape. The Vintage Collection have no opening features and are for collectors. Several other model series by Hatchette do have opening features but are still top quality.

Hachette keeps releasing more 1/24th cars, and they keep getting better quality. They are really cheap (under 25 Euro) if you live in the countries they release them in. They are available at newsstands. Hachette also does those big 1/8th newsstand kits along with many 1/43rds. Not sure how they are affiliated but they also have the White Box brand wich are getting more common everywhere other than in the USA.

They have already done 2 or 3 versions of the DS19 and CX Citroens, and all are very accurate. The brown and white cars are from Spain in the Spanish Hachette collection. So Hachette has done 1/24th scale series collections in Italy, France, Spain, Japan, Brazil and Russia so far. All the latest models are display only and have no opening doors for better accuracy. A collectors dream come true.

More models on the way. These are all new tool models wich is amazing. They really are cranking them out, and they are perfectly shaped models with correct details. I wish they would do Ferrari's and more Alfa's+ a few Maserati's. Although I do love old French sportscars and almost anything early Citroen.

    54 - Peugeot 403 (1956) - 27/09/2018
    55 - Renault Floride (1959) - 11/10/2018
    56 - Citroën CX (1975) - 25/10/2018
    57 - Peugeot 305 SR (1980) - 08/11/2018

I forgot to update on the Japanese 1/24th scale cars Hachette is also making a large series of. I wish they would do more good looking European sportscars!!!

FYI, the Japanese series has opening doors so they are not as accurate as the new European classic series models. The older Alfa series also had opening doors so not as good as the latest European series models.

They also keep releasing top quality car models in the Russian series. Amazing detail and accuracy with no opening doors.

More news on the American Collection. Not pictured are the Cobra 427, Camaro Z28 1970, Pontiac GTO Judge and Chevrolet Fleetmaster 1948 all to be done in 1/24th scale. To bad these were not being sold in the USA as they are much better quality than any diecasts sold here other than the old Danbury mint and other higher end models in 1/24th scale. The accuracy is even better than those. They really do a great job on the accuracy of the details and I am very fussy.

Nice to see both 1966 and 1967 Shelby Mustangs done in such high quality for a very good price(regular price 19.99 Euro with magazine) . I have to say the bodies are better than the old Revelle/Monogram kits and they are all in true 1/24th(no 1/25th). Lucky French :)

By they way, this same company Hachette also does the 1967 Shelby Mustang in 1/8th scale along with a whole list of other cars. Only sold so far via magazine vendors in France in pre painted part packs you have to assemble into a complete model.

Here is the company in control of the former "Hachette" 1/24th models. They seem to be a rather large high quality toy company and do several scales. I see the European French division is responsible for most of the 1/24th models now. They also have a Russian division. The models are made in Bangladesh. Company started by Bernard Perez in 1976 in France and Portugal.

From this very hard to find Porsche Mythe collection a PORSCHE 356 A that says 1956 in 1/24. This model looks like a very early 356 A or a 356 pre A.

A photo to show I don't just talk and I do get a few of these models :) They are really nice and a great base to rework into race versions. The SEAT is tempting to turn into a FIAT Abarth, but the wheels are complicated. Plus its already such a nice model. I already have rally decals for the Peugeot and Renault.

Several of the new Hachette subscription models from France and Spain. The US cars are very well done and more accurate than the GMP models due to no opening panel lines. The best of the lot is the Renault Floride wich is perfectly detailed. They used a 2 part paint with base and clear coat from what I can tell and the quality is hand built standard, not factory diecast. They can get these for around 30 Euro in France. The 356 is the least detailed but still very good and the body is better than the old Fujimi 356 A kit!!
