During the BBC coverage of the last F1 race the BBC crew said several times that the Torro Rosso is basically the same car as the Red Bull save the engine. Is this true and if so, is this allowed? Thanks.

Yeap, its the same car designed by Adrian Newey. The issue has been dragging on for a while now, and i have no idea whats the real conclusion to it.

The STR is considered a customer car. Red Bull have actually put Toro Rosso up for sale because customer cars will be made illegal from 2010. So they are allowed to compete with their 'customer' car for the rest of the season.

In short, yes it is allowed ..for now.

I think the idea of customer cars has gone out of vogue, after
    (a) Aguri did better with a year-old Honda chassis than Honda did with their "Earth Car",
and (b) STR beat Red Bull last year, using a better engine
(and a better driver, who is now with Red Bull).
