My wife and I just did this. If any of you are considering, PM me and I'd be happy to share info/experience.

    Keith:

We last did that in 2018, so a few questions for you to bring us up to date:

Were you in Queen’s Grill, Princess Grill or Britannia Club?
Did you eat in the high-end restaurant (Veranda)?
Did you eat in any of the specialty restaurants (Italian, Indian, Mexican, Asian)?
How crowded did the big dance floor get each night?
Was the crossing 7 or 8 nights? How many formal nights did you have?
How did you get from Southampton to London?

We just took Queen Elizabeth around Asia and they were nice enough to give us two liters of high-end booze (Jack, Jameson) in our suite. Do they do that on crossing?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Alan. Queen's Grill. We had first class service, special orders, lot of table side prep and more in Queen's Grill dining. Did not try any other venue for dinner. The QG staff made us anything we wanted. Duck, lobster, Beef Wellington, specialty desserts. There are twenty places to have a drink. The boat can hold about 2,700 total and there were about 2,300 on our voyage, I did not find any over crowding, even in tiny casino. First class service through out. 7 nights crossing. Two formal nights. We liked that very much. They adjust clocks one hour on five of the days so no time lag. We went to Oxford from Southampton and I had a private car service pick us up and take us to our hotel, The Old Bank. That's the place to stay in Oxford. We had two bottles of Laurent-Perrier in our suite upon entry. Smooth sailing entire voyage.

    Very interesting…thanks Keith.

We are Platinum-level Queen’s Grillers also. We have a crossing scheduled for January ‘24. This crossing is for 8 nights…I think they throttle back a bit due to high seas.

Many people would avoid crossing the North Atlantic in the dead of winter but we enjoy it when the weather and seas are a bit “sporty”. We once steamed around Cape Horn (where the Atlantic and Pacific literally crash into each other) on Queen Vic and the ship was tossed around pretty well…plates flew off tables, people were bouncing off walls…great fun! Who needs Great Adventure.

Many our paths will cross someday aboard one of the Queens.

    Stay well!

We had a Silverseas adventure years back in the North Sea. They had furniture lashed down. Waves literally crashed over the bow. All dinner service suspended except for sandwiches, etc. I forget what the Captain said, Gale Force something or other. The funny thing was neither my wife or I got seasick but when we landed two days later, we were both "landsick" for a full day...solid ground under our feet kept rolling! Saw an officer next morning and he said they were close to confining everyone to their staterooms. We averaged about 22 knots for the Queen voyage.
