They can't ignore it. Certainly the British drivers can't. I was just 8 when you came to power. It was a privilege to watch her all these years. She brought real meaning to the word Majesty. I hope she is given a truly royal funeral worthy of her love for Great Britain. Her kind of person will not pass this way again. In one of the last photos that I've seen of her, she has the same wonderful smile that she did as a young woman at the beginning of her long reign. RIP Elizabeth II.

I think some kind of fitting tribute is certainly due....I hope they come up with something worthy of someone who lived such a life.

I think she deserves a little more than a tweet.

The British drivers and cars should be wearing some sort of respectful tribute. If a Ferrari doesn’t win I hope a British driver will, and I don’t care which one.

Some black tape on the British cars and drivers, I guess. I don't know what Red Bull and Mercedes will do, as they run with foreign licenses.

Why should a driver, let's say, from France or Spain care at all? She has no meaning to most people outside Britain. F1 is not a British series.

She was just a symbol of Britism, nothing more, relic of old long gone empire.

Best thing the Brits can do is to scrap the whole monarchy now and save some money for the tax payers

Little bit of respect and all that, not sure what's wrong with that.

    As for your last point:

Against a cost of around £100 million. So they are contributing to the pot rather than just taking.

It's not just "Britain" but "the Commonwealth" which represents 56 nations or a 1/4 of the planet.

F1 is still majority based in Britain, 7 of 10 teams are in England. If you want a non-driver job in F1 you either move to England or Italy... Bernie ran the show for Britain, it's only the past few years with Liberty that it's become more global but F1 is still English centric.

You might not care as a French driver but most of your "team" might so you can show a little respect for your team at least.

Everyone is allowed to have an educated opinion. If you read the tributes coming in from just the F1 community alone, you will perhaps realize the positive influence and respect she had across the World. Then go look up the tributes from other countries - lot's of respect for the Queen on full display.
    May she rest in peace.

What an absolutely horrible take. Everyone is allowed to have any opinion they want (be it "educated" or "uneducated"); it's called basic human rights

Regardless if you are don't care for the Royal Family, I think it's still respectful to give a minute of silence to her and a few tweets or messages here and there.

F1 is indeed a Global sport, not a British sport, but nobody can deny that central core of F1 remains in Britain, as this is where most of the teams are situated, with a huge presence of British workers. Some of the folks in F1 may have knew the Queen or other members of the family. She's also been one of the most well known people in the world for decades. So a few messages of condolence and a minute of silence and some arm bands or stickers on the team to show some respect certainly isn't hurting anyone.

Showing a minimum of respect when many are mourning someone is usually the norm, regarless of opinion.

Taking the opportunity to make unwelcome comments is simply callous.
