Does anybody know how to set the clock on the centre console of my 1984 308? I assume you push or pull and twist the small knob but no joy, the clock does work however!

Also there is some dirt on the inside of the glass, does the bezel unscrew so that the glass can be removed or will I need to remove the whole unit?

Mine works but i can't set it either.

You could unhook the battery and then turn it on when the right time comes 'round.

Had a similar problem, except the adjustment knob on my clock was broken off. I would suggest the advice of unplugging, setting an alarm for a later time, then plugging back in. That is the inexpensive way to "fix" it.

The alternative is to send to Palo Alto Speedometer. It won't be cheap, but it will come back working properly. $210 later, I have a reconditioned Veglia clock (with a new lens). It only took about 5 weeks (after the initial "oh about 1 week" estimate)
    :-(

When I got it back the first time, the hour hand was not secured properly and was spinning around freely. They were quite embarassed, paid for shipping and had it back to me in 4 days total turnaround (including shipping time).

They do good work, but expect to pay for it. And to wait a bit too....

PS I am very "proud" of my clock now, and I make sure to point it out to anyone who will listen...

I think most clock-watch repair guys could probably fix it. I had the issue of a faded crystal that made it hard to see the hands of the clock. I found an old Russian clock repair guy here in Denver and he replaced my crystal, he said it still looked good on the inside.(lubed it too I think)- I'm sure he could have fixed the stem, if I needed him too. He said that he could even replace the "guts" if it ever dies.
It still keeps great time after 22 years.

Thanks guys, I think the battery unplug routine looks like a winner :)

You're supposed to push down on the knob to adjust, right? I can't adjust mine because when the PO replaced the plastic face, they didn't cut a big enough hole for the adjustment knob to fully push down... I've been meaning to pull the clock and get either a new face or the one I've got cut again.

Wow, is mine the only one that works properly? I can adjust the time and it works perfectly. Lucky I guess...

Just had another look at it and noticed there is a small cutout for the twiddly knob in the glass (plastic) that had rotated to the side. The besel and glass rotate freely so I turned it back and low and behold I can push the knob down and adjust the time. Result! :)
