I'm busy trying to fix the window problems endemic to the 456. (What a ***** of a job!)

I need to know how to remove the leather trim on the b pillars before I break something. The door seal hasn't been fitted properly.

So hopefully somebody can clue me on how I remove it.

    Thanks

You have a bit of work to get to the pillar piece. You need to get the side panels off to get to the small screw holding the lower part of the panel in place. The upper part is a tab, you just pull the panel out and down to remove it.

To get the side panels off, you need to start with the rear seat bottoms. There are two bolts hidden in small pockets below the front of the rear seats. One of the pockets can be seen in the picture below in the carpet near the body structure on the vertical section . Once these two are removed, you can pull up on the rear seat and pull it forward and out.

You will then see the fasteners that secure the upper part of the rear seat at the bottom. Remove these and you can pull the seat down and out.

Then you can remove the side panel. Do not forget the small phillips head screw at the lower edge of the panel toward the front of the car. Once all the fasteners are removed, you can slide the panel forward to remove it.

You will then be looking at a scene like the picture below (minus the subwoofer of course....) and the panel.
