can someone tell me something about the 348 fog lights? there is 2 plugs for each light. one has two prongs in it and goes to the main fog light. the other plug has 3 prongs, and one is the ground. so, that means there are two other lights in the fog light unit. what are they?

The others are the parking light and turn signal.

ok, a couple more questions. 1. what are the watts on the parking and turn lights?
    2. do both of these lights blink when turning?
does thid make sense? when i push the parking light button on the dash, one of the lights turns on. if i turn on the headlights, they are both on. if i use the turn signal they both blink. they blink faster when the headlights are off. is this how yours is? thanks ernie.

I really haven't paid any attention to how fast they blink. All I care is that they work. As for the dimming, I think that has more to do with the infamous crap Ferrari wiring.

This is very confusing - I'm going to make it worse!

My 1990 348 US Version Technical Manual (Owners Handbook) shows the following diagram, with the following descriptions:
    A - Daytime Flasher Light
    G - Front Fog Lamp
    F - Front Parking Light
B - Front Direction Indicator Light

If this were the case, F only would come on as a front parking light, and B only would come on as a front turn signal. G only would come on as a fog light when you hit the button on the console. A would come on when you pulled the headlight lever toward the driver.

On my car, the wiring has been modified so that B & F have sockets for dual filament bulbs. The bulbs are traditional 1157A (amber), which have 21 watt filaments for turn signals (bright) and 5 watt for parking lights (dim). There is no socket and no wires for a fog light in positon G. When I pull the headlight lever, it activates the bulb in position A.

Theoretically, the lens in position G is more suited for use as a fog light, offering more diffused lighting. The lens in position A is more suited for use as a warning flasher light. I can't really understand why the function is combined, one or the other is bound to suffer.

I can't tell when the wiring modification was done on my car, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it was done by Ferrari to bring the car into certification for the USA market. Perhaps someone like Rifledriver would know if the dealers had to make a change per a Tech Bulletin, or something like that. Or perhaps my car is a "freak".

that is weird. i have a 91. i hit a pile of ice in the road when it was very cold, and my bumper was shattered. so, i thought i would put the 355 bumper on that has a parking light, turn signal, and fog light. well, my car has 2 plugs to choose from. one only comes on when the fogs are turned on...so that is the new fog. that leave the other plug left, which has 3 prongs in it. so, it powers 2 lightsand one is the ground. the 355 has a 21w and 5w light here. but, here is the problem. there is no flash when i use the large bulbs and a very fast flash with the small ones. what is also weird is that only one light comes on when i put the parking lights on, but both come on w/ the headlights and both flash when the turn signal is on. can someone try there 91 out and see if this is the norm?
