Hello! The right display on my 2018 488 has stopped working. It has a backlight but that's it, it's just a gray screen. I purchased a rebuilt cluster a year ago and it worked fine until recently but now it's gone out again. Makes me wonder if it could be something else beyond the cluster? Would greatly appreciate anyone else's opinions related to this issue. Thank you!

I've been involved with this very problem on a 458. The problem may be that it is a rebuilt cluster. Mine was rebuilt with aftermarket camera inputs and it only randomly works. What company rebuilt yours? I still haven't solved this problem. The trouble is that when it works, it's fine. Then randomly doesn't work for awhile. We are troubleshooting it now independently of the installer, and it may have something to do with the aftermarket amplifier causing some type interference. If we can't find anything I will send it back to be tested, but I'll bet that it will test fine. I don't know what is causing it to randomly quit. Frustrating for sure. Following. I may have to spring for a new cluster.

  3. I think its broken.

Thanks Snapshift. Sorry you are in the same boat with me on this. I'm not sure who rebuilt it. My local dealer sent it someone in California. I'll ask and get back to you.

The rebuilt cluster was approx $2500 vs a new one @ approx $10k. With such a price disparity I'm considering taking a chance on just getting another rebuilt cluster and hope for better results. My dealer says they have not had any issues with rebuilt clusters before now. Just my luck!

Same here. It was probably rebuilt by FAI in Costa Mesa, CA. Maybe you can send it back out for retesting. That is who rebuilt my cluster also, I emailed him with the symptoms of random operation and he said to send it back for testing. I haven't gotten around to pulling the cluster just yet, but most likely will have to do so. PM Fred Daniali on this board. He got me in touch with a company in NY to rebuild & repair the NIT unit which helped a lot. My problem is everything works on the audio sides, Carplay, and HDD, ,FM, Radio etc, just no visual screen to know what's what. He has a lot of experience with these problems.

Does the audio still work on your car even though you cannot see the screen? I am upgrading to an antigravity battery today in hopes that things will start to work better. My screen will usually start up fine on ignition only while cold, then drop off line, go white then black after starting it up. Theory was starting voltage drop. We'll see.

Yes. It was FAI. A new one from factory is approximately $9k installed vs $2500 for the rebuilt. Decided to try another rebuilt and hope this one was a fluke.

It's strange, but I came out this morning, started the car up, and the display worked normally. Maybe it's time to change the battery.

The TFT screens go out intermittently— my left TFT went out on my F8 but would only do it once in a while and then would come back. Was replaced under warranty

My 812 left screen was working fine and then upon starting the car went white, I left it for a while and tried to check it again but it was still white. It's booked into the dealer for checking this week

Ya, mine was the same … white

The good news when it’s the left one is…. You’ll probably pick up a few hundred free miles. When they diagnose it, they’ll record mileage. Then when you come back for appointment when part is in, they’ll use that mileage. So anything you drive in between is free! Weeee [emoji23] I mean MAYBE this happened to me [emoji6]

OK so they sold me the car less than a year ago and are trying to say the Ferrari Approved warranty does not cover it and the approved warranty is just a power 15 warranty. This does not sound right to me at all as it's clearly advertised the Approved warranty covers a lot more. Please can someone kindly confirm if the Approved Warranty is just the Power 15 or if it is more inclusive?

Mine is called the 2 yr factory extension which is the full coverage as when new. Power15 is a lesser service contract and isn’t as comprehensive as the full extension. Mine is a 21 and had 1 year left of factory when extended.

So looks like I only have the power, it's not covered but, after a couple of calls I found a replacement screen for £300 and its just 2 hours labour to drop it in. The damage is not that bad considering the £7,000 bill originally quoted
