My 355 F1 came w/ a built in battery charger. I shut off the battery and plugged the charger in. The red light is on which I imagine indicates its charging. My question is will the light turn green when fully charged and automatically shut off the charger? If not do I keep it plugged in with battery off when not in use? Will it affect the car with the charger on all the time? Am I just being to anal and paranoid about my car since I officially have new car syndrome?!!

I have the same setup on my Mondial. I leave the battery on all the time, and the charger on all the time. Only difference is that I have a small cheap timer between the wall plug and the charger. I have set it up to come on four hours a day, and charge in one hour increments about six hours apart. Seems to work okay, and if I remember correctly the charger goes off once the battery is fully charged. Let me know if you want to know what type of charger is on the car. Previous owner had it installed as he was leaving the car for long periods of time and got tired of the battery being dead when he went to drive the car.

Others on this group can give you advice on the pros and cons of turning the battery off. I have no idea what the impact of doing that would be on the car, but have an idea it is probably not a good to do that.
