    Hey all,

I purchased an Alfa Romeo from a friend of mine down in Miami, Florida. He was the second owner, and purchased it from the first owners in Texas. The car arrived to me here in Cincinnati along with the title, which I think I have a discrepancy on: It seems as though he never transferred it into his name when he bought the car, as the title is the original issue from the Texas Alfa dealer. His name and address are filled in as the buyer, but for whatever reason, he never titled it in his name. So now that I have the car up here in Ohio, am I f**ked over transferring it? I know Ohio requires an out of state inspection on cars purchased elsewhere, hence the vehicle has to be present when you do the title transfer so they can check the VIN #s on the car and title to see that they match. What I am wondering is if Florida also requires this out of state inspection, because if so, I am stuck with getting the car back down there for him to transfer the title to his name, then re-assign it to me. Otherwise, if FLA doesn't require the inspection, I can FedEx the title to him, he can do the transfer and then re-assign it to me and send it back up, no problem. Any ideas anyone?

    Cheers,
    Aaron

Check with Florida Dept of Motor Vehicles, Registration division. They will be able to answer your questions promptly. You can also check with the county(as they are known here in Texas) or parrish or whatever it is in Florida of the city where your friend lives. The title office there will know also........HOpe that helps
