I was wondering if there are any body changes when the cars switched to the larger wheels and tires. It seems like there is not a lot of room with the 215s and the 240s are quite a bit larger.

    Hi,
What I have seen so far is that the 15" wheels (with 215/70 tyres) and the 415mm wheels (with the 240/55 tyres) are freely exchangeable on the 400's and the 400i's (the entire set of 4 wheels is exchanged in that scenario of course) without any modification to the body which remains exactly the same. I had the case for a 400i which had 15" wheels to start with and then got its 415mm wheels when the fresh TRX tyres became available a couple of years ago.

Dimension wise according to the Michelin website, the 15" XWX 215/70 is 221mm wide and 683 mm diameter, while the 415mm TRX 240/55 is 239 mm wide and 679mm diameter (slightly wider and shorter). I suppose there could be a difference in actual offset between the 15" rim and the 415mm rim which would explain why there is not need for a change in body.
