No, not worried about small furry animals on top of the car. The 'other' cats... I have been trying to research this and not doing a great job. I have some question about catalytic converters on the 360 model: 1. How many per side, on a 1999 model? 2. How many per side on a 2000-2005 model? 3. Is there any way to eliminate the cats on these cars and not set a CEL? In the past on other cars I have used an O2 sensor spacer to pull the O2 sensor out of the exhaust stream to "trick" it into thinking it was in spec. Is that possible on a 360? Is there an aftermarket solution (Headers and down-pipe?) that will provide the ability to do away with the cats? 4. Is the "B" vin (Euro) version of the car really free of catalytic converters or is it just missing the pre-cats? Thanks...
1 cat per side 1 cat and 1 pre-cat (in the header) per side I have read threads about people doing this, but no personal experience. Fabspeed is a forum sponsor and I believe could help you address this point. http://www.fabspeed.com/360/ I believe they are just like 99's. Just missing the pre-cats.
The 1999 U.S. models have two cats, and the later cars technically have four, however, the two precats on the 00 and later cars are built into the headers/manifolds, so they are not a serviceable or removable cat. As far as eliminating the CEL, I have used the spacers on the post O2's with out much success, about 1 out of 5 seems to work, the others trigger the light somewhere in the 200 mile range. You can do headers and cat bypass pipes to eliminate the cats, there are many options, I prefer Fabspeed. The Euro cars are all the same as the U.S. 1999 model.
You just HAD to start your thread with that line... Came expecting the opportunity to post pics. Leaving disappointed.
