My newly purchased 360 has shields and they are raised a bit off the fender (i.e. not flush or painted in). They seem to be metal material that is somehow fastened to the fender, and there is a clearcoat applied to the shield itself. Is this a typical factory installed shield? They seem very high quality, so I'm assuming so.

The factory shields do stick up a little. Look around the edges to see if it is sitting in a slight recess. The factory "bosses" the fenders to accept the shields.
BTW nice car. That is the same color combo that I was looking for until I found the yellow over black with racing seats that I fell in love with. Did you get your car from Naples motorsports? Beautiful combo good luck with it.

    Yes,
I found the car at Naples. The only frustrating part in the process was waiting 3+ weeks to get it shipped to Texas. Now we have crappy weather, so I cannot drive it right now.
I'll look closer this evening at the shield, I think it is exactly as you described; the fender seems to be "bossed" to accept the shield.

cars that came from the factory with scuderia shields have an indented portion of the fender where the shield fits in. For cars that didnt come with them, there are stick on shields available that are affixed with 3m doublesided tape. hope that helps.

Thanks for the pic. It looks like mine were added, because my fender does not have the downward "impression" that the shield fits into. I hope my set-up does not detract from the value of the car. The shields look really nice, though. They are metal.

I'm pretty certain your shields wont detract value. If it did you could always remove them.

IMO quality stick ons actually look nice and enhance the look of the car. I know that shields (factory as well as aftermarket) aren't appropriate on road cars since they originally were stick ons to denote that the car was parttaking in a race series. However I think every ferrari should have shields. They just look good.

If you are willing to spend the money there are shops that could recess the fender and make it look identical to factory. Some have even ordered embossed fenders from the factory. Either way it involves body work and painting which gets really expensive.

If you have shields on the car that look like the real ones (i.e. some thickness to them, metal material), only a minute percentage of the population will know they aren't factory. And I agree with the comment that they are a great addition to the car. Mine has factory shields, but if it didn't, I'd add non-factory, non-indented shields for sure.
