Now that I finally got the laptop, I want to upgrade the hard drive on it, and also install Office. The laptop doesn't have a CD drive, so I was wondering if it is possible to install Office over a network (going through a router connected to my desktop) and if it would be possible to install XP over a network. If I can't is there a way I can connect my laptop to my computer and use the CD drive on my desktop to install XP and office? Thanks!

I'm not sure, but I think Office would work.

Just map your network drive and try the installer........

very possible, I do it all the time. Just share the cdrom drive on the network and access it via \\computername\driveletter$ <--- the $ indicates a 'hidden' share. Keep in mind, share is different than a folder. Drop me a line if you have any q's.
