I am moving a fridge this weekend, I have always in the past moved them standing up, but this is a long trip on a flat bed trailer and it would really suck to move it standing. I was told I can lay it down and once in its new location let it stand for a few days before starting it up and it should be OK.

Anyone know if I would destroy this thing moving it on its back????

    thanks
    Jason

You might want to lay it on its side so you don't damage the coils on the back.

You can move it lying on it's back but DO NOT plug it in for at least an hour after you stand it back up. All the oil for the motor needs to settle back down through the lines before you plug it in or else it will never get cold again!

    Thanks guys,

    Thanks

+1, we just did this a couple of months ago, this is the best way to keep from damaging it, so long as it's secure to the point it's not going to fall over onto it's back during transit. be sure to put some old rugs or something underneath it to keep from scratching the side as well.
