I bought the Hills engineering gate because I hoped it would help me shift a bit more effortlessly(once gear oil wams up!) and because the stop to keep from going into reverse had worn away. I like the product but I've noticed a few times I've done a bit of gear grinding when downshifting, I think because of less restriction of the stick position. Has anyone else had this occur? I could not make this happen with the original one.

I have had a Hill slickshift on my car for 18months, love it, no down or upshift issues whatsoever. Might want to check shift shaft bushings.

(tip: put a little clear silicone scuba equipment grease on the gate and stick surfaces. tip2: change transaxle fluid to Redline mt-90 synthetic for magical improvments in shiftability.)
