    Can it be harmful to do some exercises in the steam room such as Push ups or Abs ??

    I would think it could if you over stress yourself.... esp. if you have a heart condition.

    Why? You planning on doing it?

    I have been doing this for 2/3 years now. I get bored in the steam room after 5 mns so i do some push ups..never more than 20 in a row though..

    Well, by asking the question I think you know it's a poss. danger.

    When you heat the body with steam you open capillaries. Opening them up makes the volume of blood have lower pressure, I would think. This would cause your heart to work harder. No problem if it's for a normal period of time in a steam room. But add stress (workout) or a heart issue and it could be a issue.

    If you're young you can get away with this a bit more.

    i hope its your steam room cause there is no way in hell id put my hands on the floor or walls of a public steam room...
