I have a question about the XX series. In 2002 Ferrari presented the beautiful Ferrari Enzo. In 2005 they made the great FXX and the program continued until 2008/2009 with the Ferrari FXX Evoluźione. In 2006 they presented the 599 GTB Fiorano and three years later, in 2009 they made the 599XX and after two years, in 2011 they presented the Evo version of it. After all these excellent machines and after more than 10 years Ferrari presented to the crowd the impressive LaFerrari at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show. Two years later they bought the amazing FXX-K.

    My questions are two.

Q1: What happened with the F12 platform? I mean will they make an XX version of it? It was presented back in 2012 and since then...there is no update until this year's TdF version, which i believe has got nothing to do with an XX
    replacement version.

Q2: Will Ferrari make an Evo version of the FXX-K?

Does anybody know more about it?

    Thank you in advance.

Ferrari do not necessarily make an XX version of all cars. The 599 XX was proof that you could take a relatively heavy front-engined GT car (as good as it was) and turn it into a truly high performance racing machine. This has been done in a hugely successful manner, using F1 based technology that we later found incorporated in raod cars. Therefore, there is no reason for Ferrari to "democratise" their XX programme by doing the same thing again.

The K is another technological marvel where the ability to build something very special without the constraints of regulations, has been successfully demonstrated, yet again.

Will there be an Evo kit in 2 years? I would not bet against it!! We, as owners, are already working with engineers on improvements ...

Mimmicking Peter´s response; what would an F12 XX do that a FXX K doesn´t? XX is about technological development and evolution, not making a car for the sake of it. 599XX had active aerodynamics and far more advanced electronics than the FXX, especially the evo!

I understood. I was just thinking how it would be as a better platform because i believe that the F12 has more advanced chassis than the 599. And i have the curiosity to see how a F12 XX would look like with the aerodynamics etc.

It sounds great the fact that you already working for improvements. That means that there are more space for evolution!

    Thank you about your explanation.

    :)

Why the 599XX is faster than the FXX. It is something that i never understood. In dimensions is 'shorter' than the FXX but i believe that the FXX has more aerodynamic efficiency.

Aerodynamics(599XX has active aero etc.) and much more advanced electronics! The FXX is faster in a straight line but gets left in the corners.
