What do all of you think the best wax or other product is for a 360? I got stuck in an awful rain storm she needs some serious shine! thanks chris
You'll get a million and one answers to this question as everyone has their own views. I personally use AutoGlym products and they seem fine. I also use CarPlan Nano sealer after about four or five washes.
Check the autotopia section at the bottom of the main forum page! Great link to some great products! I use Zymol Estate Glazes, very pricey and Zaino products. The first is a carnuba wax, the latter a synthetic/polymer (whatever) product. Both do a great job! Many, many swear buy Zaino. Hear are some picks. Remember, its all in the prep work grasshopper!! My detailer is "Detailguy" here on Fchat. He does most of the Ferraris in our area to include, Enzo, Daytona, F430, 599, 360 and 355. He is the best! Without the halogen lights you really couldn't see my swirls, I was blown away at how bad the paint was! Yes, another satisfied DetailGuy customer. Too bad he (Chris) isn't doing it full time anymore (although better for him, probably). Getting all the swirl marks out my black car was amazing. He even got the swirl marks out of my clear bra on the front. For a while there, my car looked like black glass. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I used to use Zaino exclusively. I was turned on to Pinnacle Souveran wax (best on black or red) by Autopia, looks FANTASTIC. Very wet look. Easy to apply. I found Zaino to be a bit time intensive.
I'm a bit of a detail hobbyist and I've tried pretty much every wax already mentioned in this thread except the expensive Zymol stuff that I don't figure justifies the price. My 360 and other cars are all silver so you may get different results on other colors, but after testing different brands and synthetics vs carnuba for years I've been sticking to Blackfire Wet Diamond wax. Compared to Zaino it is far easier to apply, just wipe on, wipe off, and the shine is really the best I've seen on my cars. Synthetic polymer waxes like Blackfire and Zaino also last far longer than pure carnuba waxes. And Blackfire just added "Polycharger" into their waxes and quick detailer spray, which is supposed to make the polymer chains bond together even stronger to last even longer. I was skeptical, but after trying it out, I was pleasantly surprised that it met their claims and the shine also seemed slightly deeper. I'm not sure why the Polycharger would effect shine, but the proof was in the pudding. I'd def reccomend anyone trying to pick a wax to try them out.
Synthetics last longer but lack the depth and wetness of carnaubas. However Zaino is decidedly superior over all other synthetics including Blackfire. I can say that b/c I have used both back to back on the same car and the difference is night and day. If you dont have time ( and who does these days) just use Zaino AIO, buff off, and spray with Zaino Grand Finale. You will be truly amazed. See your results in direct sunshine and you will know what I mean. Adil.
As I mentioned, it's probably just a different wax for different paint colors thing. My cars are silver and Zaino did not look the best on my cars.
Even though Pinnacle Souveran doesn't last very long, as 360blue said it is the deepest and wettest look I've seen on red (best used on red or black, not sure if there is a difference on other colors according to manufacturer). Pure carnauba costs more than synthetics, so expect to pay around $85 for a small container that'll do about 30 cars. I can put it on in about 5-10 minutes, so reapplying every 2-3 months is not an issue. It's worth it for the look. Should last longer if you garage it and only occasionally drive. I drive mine every day it's not raining, and mine has still looked great for a while. I park it in a garage at home and at work. http://www.autogeek.net/pinsouvwax.html
