Looking at your desired price, I'd say a 2011 is probably closer to what you want to pay; the very low end of 458's in 2012 available are at $280. Those generally will have, as you noted with this one, pretty high miles. The price you note for this one at $217K is suspiciously low, so you want to check Copart and do a title search to make sure what you are shopping is what you expect. I'm not sure if you are in the USA, but couldn't find any listing for any 458 under $221K. Unless you have a warranty, and have done a thorough PPI on the car to surface any issues, caveat emptor.

2012's have an advantage of the 7-year's service included, and would still have some warranty time left, which would not be the case for a 2011 or prior. If I had $260K or so to spend, I might wait until the 458 Speciale is released and some more 458's come on the market to lower the price a little, and then choose from amongst what is out there then.

The 458 section is filled with owners with specific expertise for the car, so peruse that section, also.

I`m no expert, just a super car fan,
The first K miles on any car are crucial for its future well being, be careful and suspicious from falling into temptation of paying low money for what could result into high spending in the future...

I own a brand new 2013 (april) 458. It took me 3 months discovering a tiny oil filter deffect, which could have been disastrous if not detected on time thru meticulous observation of my new jewel... Warranties are almost always respected, but when not, lower price resale are the best next option.

    Be Careful!
