I was working around the house, and while I couldn't watch every moment I had the TV turned on the entire time and made regular checks on the progress. I noticed they had those Indianapolis Decade montages that they would run during the rain delay, but I never noticed them show much, if anything, from the late 80's and early 90's. It just seems to me like they are trying a little too hard to shade references/memories/videos of the race's history just before the split. Any time I saw a video compilation, whether as a teaser or before going to commercial, I never saw anything from those eras.

Far be it from Tony George to "suggest" that the networks and producers avoid reminding folks in TV land of Indy's lost healthy era. But if what I suspect is true, he is worse than I thought.

I didn't watch much of it, but I did see they replayed the ending of the 1992 Indy 500. That was just before the IRL was created
