    Hi all,

I have 2 gold accounts (MajorSc and MajorSc2), so I have been using those to play split-screen online on my HDTV, so that 2 people can play online while in a split-screen view.

I also have another Xbox 360 which is normally hooked up to a smaller TV. If I get another Halo 3, I would log in as MajorSc on one console and as MajorSc2 on the second console.

But what about the console hooked up to my big TV... can I use one account to do split screen and then still play online? Or do I have to buy a 3rd Gold subscription, or ask one of my friends to "Recover" their account onto my console?

    Thanks,
~shahedc (aka MajorSc on Xbox Live)

You can sign on with four separate gold accounts on each xbox and play split screen. You only need to hook up one of your 360s to your tv in that case.

Do you want to play co-op or do you want to play unranked matchmaking games? If you're wanting to just play unranked matchmaking you don't need more than one gold subscription on one box, however I do think you'll need a separate gold account on each box you want to play on. If you're trying to get three unique players on two boxes you're going to need three unique accounts.

I want to play unranked matchmaking games, like Team Slayer. It seems like I should be able to use my MajorSc account for split-screen online play, and my MajorSc2 account on the other console.

I don't mind using the same name multiple times on the same box... they names don't have to be unique, I just want to play Team Slayer online, just like I do on my LAN, but we can add everyone at home, plus more people from the Internet.

    Update:

I tried using the same username twice in an online game on the same console, but could not find a way to do so.

The only way I could join an Internet game with a friend on the same console, was to use both my gamertags on the same console.

Am I missing something here? Can anyone provide step-by-step instructions on how I can use 1 gamertag for 2 people to enter an online game on the same console?

    Thanks,

If you're playing unranked slayer games just sign in with your account on your xbox, then go into matchmaking and have the person you're playing with hit (A) to join the game then it should open up the part of the dashboard that allows others to sign in. Have him hit (A) again and choose the profile that says "Guest Xbox Live" then either of you can hit (A) and you should both sign into xbox live. Your gamertag should read 'MajorSc' and his should read 'MajorSc (1)'
