    Hi guys,

I have the suspension malfunction light on and turn out that the actuator cracks due to some broken part from the shock as well. Given that I never choose the soft mode, do I really need the actuator?? can I switch it off ?? i.e. unhook it so that the malfunction light wont come on anymore.

Please kindly advise on how I handle this problem going forward. What about changing to conventional suspension? any after market brands/ kits to recommend??

    Cheers guys
    P.

There are plenty of threads on fixing the shocks and actuators, why not repair what is broken? If the shock needs a new gear on top, you can get replacements from Ricambi America. If the shock needs complete rebuilding, you can be them rebuilt by Bilstein USA for $100 each. And there is a guy than can often (but not in all cases) rebuild the actuator for reasonable prices (he is listed in the threads). In rare cases you may need to buy a new one, or find a working used one on Ebay.

Even in the firm mode, the shock actuators move the shock settings around based on speed (and maybe a few more parameters).

However, a track trick is to the pull the actuators and then dial the shocks full counter clockwise, and use a plastic clamp to hold the shocks in the full firm direction.

Though I do not have this problem (yet!), I am also considering having a permanent fixed hard mode and unhooking that yellow light off the dash. Eagerly awaiting the experts opinions. And guys, me and Pengster are located just a little far from you in good ol' USA where the re-builders/de-stickers of all things 355 abound. We envy you!
