    Hey Guys,

    Could use some additional help:

While removing the steering rack, would the procedure be to loosen the steering column coupler nut, then remove the mounting rack nuts/washers/bushings.

Is that the easiest way to remove? I'll post in Techical Section as well.

    Thanks guys,

    Chris.

Chris after you have removed the tie rod ends you then remove the steering rack mounts. Then turn the steering wheel one way so that you can access the column coupling/clamp.Remove the 10mm bolt and gently pry open the coupling/clamp with a screwdriver. It should come out via the drivers side.Removal is pretty simple.Refitting is a bit tricky and a bigger pain. When you have reconditined the rack you then have to centre the rack before you put it back. With a pair of pliers(wrap something around the splined shaft so you dont damage the splines) turn the splined shaft of the rack either direction and count how many turns left/right.Centre it by turning it equally either way. Then centre the steering wheel so it turns the same amount of turns either way and keep it centre. Then refit the rack by first fitting the splined shaft onto the coupling/clamp.Then clamp up the rack mounts. They are a pain to put in and it helps if you have some ratchet type spanners.Just put in one bolt then check if you have the steering wheel centred. If you get it straight up then refit all the bolts. This whole process took me a while to set up correctly and was a major pain to do.Somebody might chime in with an easier way
