    Good afternoon fellow F-chatters!

It's been a very, very long time since I've been active on this site, but I'm reengaging my 308 this month and up for a new battery. As such I went to my local Interstate Battery retail store and dropped a second mortgage on a new battery (MT-36R), one of which was informed were of the SAME O.E. dimensions, only to discover; WRONG!!! It'll be going back.

Question, does any other MFR build a closer to O.E. dimensions? What might the MFR be?

Thank you very much for your input Gentlemen,

    Chris.

MTP 24F. Or anyones group 24F. About as ordinary as it gets.

You can thank your government for the price of batteries. They have closed nearly all the lead mines. Lead is getting near the price of gold. Yet they want electric everything.

I am pretty sure you want a 34R battery. Anywhere from 150 to about 200$ should get you a decent battery. You want the R version so the cables reach their correct post. Google it to confirm.

Good morning Rifledriver, JPL, MFlanagan and Steve,

Thank you guys for your input-very MUCH. Apologies for taking so long to respond. Work has been a "life-suck" (LOL).

Tell me Gentlemen, would any of the suggestions fit squarely into the battery tray, where the bottom clamp (hold down) would affix to it?

    Thank you Gentlemen,

    Chris.
