    Hello all,

Been lurking for a time, however I seem to be getting closer to getting more serious about this decision. Lately I simply can't stop thinking about this car.

The next issue for me is one of dimensions. I am 6' 2", but I am very long waisted. I also weigh 260 lbs. As a reference point I don't fit in Corvette's, (headroom and width are the issue) however I do own a '94 Nissan 300ZX which I can fit in with about 1/2" of headroom to spare in the T top model.

I would have thought in the past 2 years I would have come across one at a car show or something but no luck. There are just not many of these around my area.

So, could you please provide some thoughts on if a 308 or a 328 might work for me?

    Thank you.

Put your location in your profile and, maybe, a fellow FChatter will let you sit in their ride.

My partner is 6'4" and around 180lb and he CAN drive the 308, but not very comfortably... you'd need to try for yourself. Foot size is also an issue as the pedals are very close together. It's a much better fit for my size (5'2" and 110lb)! Put a 308 beside a modern car and you'll realise they are VERY tiny cars.

The seat only slides forward/back and tilts, so you'll be able to figure out if you can get a good driving position fairly quickly by sitting in one yourself. I've heard of many owners at 6'2"+ with no problems, but I've heard of a few who did have issues, so I wouldn't take anyone else's word for it, if I were you.

I am 6'6" but I weigh 195. The reason I fit in my GTB is that there is a lot of splay room, so my knees have somewhere to go. I am pretty evenly proportioned. I also had a 300zx and it is much roomier. You will need to try for yourself but I would guess that you would not be very comfortable. I guy in a sandwich shop who was probably 6'4" and maybe 240 asked to sit in my 308 and it wasn't even close, he was stuffed in like a sardine. But you have to try it, good luck.

77 GTB and I'm 6'3" and 245. Seat all the way back and 1" extender on the steering wheel and adjusted up a little and I have no problems. I have more head room in the GTB then the GTS with the top on. A 4 hour drive is not a problem.

Like what was said, put your location in and you might find someone in your area. You'll just have to try. Having a lot of my leangth in my torso I have trouble with headroom in many cars. I too have not sat in a 308. I do own a Mondial and it has more room. I think there are a few people who purchased Mondials because of the space issue.

    I'm 6'3", 228 lbs, 35" inseam, size 13 shoes.

I fit fine in 308/328s, AS LONG AS THEY ARE GTBs!! :)

The GTS cars have less headroom because of the flat targa panel, where the GTBs have the curved fixed roof. Plus, some say the GTBs are better-driving cars. I would agree. I've owned 3.

To gain a fraction more pedal space, remove the rubber covers and install aluminum Ultimate Pedals! They look cool, plus give you a little more footroom between pedals.

Also, I have a 2" MOMO steering wheel hub spacer to give you more thigh room. These are intimate-cabin cars, but that's what makes them so unique and desirable. I think S2000s, Miatas and SLKs have even tinier cabins, frankly. And they are NOWHERE as cool as an F-car!

    All,

Thank you for the replies - you have certainly given me some great ideas and possible options to see if I can make this work.

I will continue to look for a car to actually sit in of course, but you have all given me some hope!

    Thanks again!
