In searching this forum and WSM I am seeing different specs on the unleaded clutch thickness for my 94 348. Generally I'm finding either 7.3-7.4 mm or 7.7+-.3 mm. I believe the latter number is correct but would like confirmation before having the disc relined.

    Thanks for your help.

Per the Ferrari shop manual, dual disc is 7.25MM, with 1.5 Mm wear limit, single disc is 8.3 MM

    Hi Gary,

Thanks for replying. Can you give me the page number in the WSM you are getting this data from. I downloaded the WSM from all ferraridocs. In there the spec for a single disc is 7.7 mm at rest.

This is why I am confused. There seems to be several specs out there. I'm getting the disc relined and want to make sure I go back to the correct thickness.

    Thanks,

    Brewman

The single disc thickness is my hand written note in the manual by measuring a new single disc for future reference. I know that the measurement is truly correct.

The confusion may come from the Marcel spring in the disc. Therefore there is a compressed and uncompressed thickness spec.. last I remember it was in the wsm. If not....Gary what is the spec compressed vs. Uncompressed?

I only measured a new disc, uncompressed.

Gary and FBB thanks for responding. I'm wondering if the difference between the WSM (7.7 MM) uncompressed and Gary's measurement could be due to which of two clutches Ferrari installed, either Valeo ( what I have) or I think the second version might be AP but not sure.

Gary do you know which clutch you measured and what model year were you dealing with ?

    Thanks,

    Brewman

Honestly. I don't have a clue. We service about 400 cars a year, so, my memory fades!
