    I've done searches, but need some clarity. Do the skid plates from Hill or anyone else cover the painted area in front of the stock skid plates on the front spoiler?

    Even through I've been cautious (approaching slow at an angle) I've managed to clip the front spoiler 5 times already. Once on each side really bad going up on the speed humps in my neighborhood, causing a cheese grater effect on the paint of the chin/nostrils on the underside of each corner.

    Putting something over the stock plates will do me no good. I need to get the paint fixed (can't see unless your head is on the ground) but I'm concerned I'm going to crack the nose if I don't get something out there to help. I mean, one of the times I scraped leaving a grocery store where I never considered that transition as being an issue and another where I was lined up the same way I always take it.

    As a side note... its definitely part of the love/hate relationship as I've never had issues with my 911 or M3 over those humps, and I take far less care approaching straight on at a roll instead of inching at an angle. My friends in Porsches & Vettes bound over them way faster than I would and they've never scraped. {sigh}

    I have the metal ones from Hill and yes, they cover the stock plates and work quite well. I know exactly what you mean with the paint scraping but I've had no further issues since I installed the metal plates.
