    Hey guys,
    First post...long time reader.
Well...the Ferrari bug has finally hit me. A buddy recently bought his first (458) and now it's my turn.
I've been doing some research on the F430s and I'm looking to pick one up as a daily driver.
I'll still have my 2011 Cayenne S if needed. But I plan on driving the Fcar primarily.

There are a few that I've looked at and I'm looking to spend right around $100k. That being said the car will have an average of 30k miles on it.
Ill be doing most maintenance and repairs myself too.
This will be my first "true exotic". I've owned several 911 Turbos and countless BMWs.

What would you guys say the average running cost on these are if daily driven?
I have a short commute most days so Id only put around 10k miles on it a year.

    Thanks for any help.
    Drew

Maintenance costs can be quite reasonable with a well sorted car. I too have a Cayenne S and a Carrera S. Fortunately for me, the maintenance costs for these cars have been minimal.

However, maintenance for my F430 has been higher (over $10k in 1.5years of ownership) but NOT necessarily due to failures/ issues, rather due to my OCD to sort and make everything perfect....LOL...I guess have to become more disciplined to help myself spend less....

    Cheers
    FN.

I think the $1 per mile estimate is the high side, but you need to think in terms of miles vs average forum owner annual cost.

Most don't do near your proposed mileage, I'd say $3,000/yr if you have an independent with SD3/Leonardo. Have a $20,000 contingency fund

I've owned mine 10.5 years. Less than 9K in maintenance and repairs.

I'm the second owner of a 2007 spider. 21,000 miles. I've never had any major issues. They are quite reliable as a whole.

I should clarify further. I've spent just over $3k for maintenance in the time I've owned the car and the rest was discretionary upgrades....lol.

Doubt you can find a good F430 for $100K. Good luck. Factor in new tires every 5-10K miles, too, if she is to be a daily driver.

If you get a good one that is up to date on all major services and has no big work planned then $1000 p.a for a minor service and $3k for a major service should be budgeted.

This is atleast my experience for my Scud through the main dealer network in Germany.

agreed.. I think it is very important that you buy a well maintained car especially if it already has 30k miles. If you want to save money on service you need to find a good independent shop that does LOTS of ferraris ....best of luck they are pretty reliable cars but have it fully serviced as part of the deal even if you pay for it as part of a ppi could be money well spent..

Thanks for all the responses guys!
    All great info.

I'll do all the maintenance myself. (fluids, brakes, oil, etc)
So with that said, I'm hoping to keep the operating cost under $1k per year unless something catastrophic happens.
And obviously tires will need to be factored in, but I wasn't including them as that's an expected cost.

Drew- Just remember there is nothing more expensive than an inexpensive Ferrari.
