So I have some daily driving questions that I'm sure regular drivers could answer here:
    - does the AC work all the time when the switch is not in the OFF position even if the thermostat is set to hot?
    - does the AC compressor disconnect when we press the throttle all the way like newer cars do?
    - I had a capristo exhaust installed and a new bypass valve. It's weird but on 2nd gear it only opens passed 5700rpms. In every other gear when pressing the throttle pedal you get the valve to open even at low rpms. Anyone experiencing this?
    - Having the F1 transmission, when stopped using the brake pedal and the gearbox on 1st gear, is the clutch still slipping or is it fully uncoupled?

The AC can be turned off if the 'Off' button is pressed. AC will always be on if not OFF. I don't turn it off. This will turn off HVAC fans as well. If you are driving with RPM above ~4000RPM, the AC will shut off to lessen load on engine. Some F355 the AC works well and on others doesn't blow very cold.

I'm not sure. I think the off button is only to disengage the compressor.
meaning the fans can still work to blow hot air or blow cold air with dial all the way to left.

You guys are talking about the "STOP" button, right? I never figured out exactly what that does.

I've been told various things about the A/C compressor, the bypass valve, the RPMs being somewhat related to each other.

I would imagine the Clutch must fully disengage when the car is stopped, unless there is a malfunction. If you let go of the brake when pointed uphill, the car should roll backwards. Any automated clutch-type tranny would work the same way (including DCTs). Someone correct me if I'm mistaken. I was always taught to put the gearbox in N if at a red light.

2nd gear the bypass valve opens at higher rpm to pass drive by noise standards, so it's normal. Not sure on the ac operation at rpms or throttle position, but the stop button shuts the whole climate unit down when it's set to auto. I've never tried to set the knobs manually with the stop button pressed in.

A Ferrari tech demo'd the AC cutting out at 4000 RPM or so after I had the AC recharged. We did a drive and he had me listen for the AC cut-off and lack of cold air when he went over 4000RPM. He then reduced RPM and showed me it engages and cold air again. We did this a couple of times. I always wondered why I had no AC when doing spirited driving. Yes... it is the 'Stop' button.

It describes all this in the wsm.
Stop stops ac comp only. Bypass is diff for sec gear as stated
Drive the f1 the way you would a stick.
If your on a hill and you release brake it will not roll back if you push throttle right away if you dont it will beep and shift to neutral. Its not supposed to let you roll back but it does a little but stops as soon as you push throttle. Get a wsm or download one. Read it, read it again, and after keep reading it on occasion. It has lots of usefull stuff in there. I still read mine weekly just because i forget stuff.

    Thanks guys!
What STOP button are you referring to? My center console has an OFF button, no STOP buttons in it.

I did some Googling on pics of F355 center console and saw pics with 'Stop' and other with 'Off' for the HVAC/AC off button. Not sure at what point 'Stop' became 'Off' during production.
