I have read in many places that Rosso Corsa is completely identical throughout Italian manufacturers. Is this true? Is Ferrari Rosso Corsa identical to Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Abarth? If I were to get a touch-up bottle for my car, and I were to buy Fiat Rosso Corsa, would it be completely identical? From the naked eye it's too hard to tell. Are there any paint gurus here?

That is far from correct. In fact, from what FML could report, there are about 50 different shades of red used by Ferrari.....and about 15 different shades of Rosso Corsa.

Exactly right Sambo. There is a huge diffference between the 70s version, the 80s that was seen on the 308/328/T-rossa and what was used in the later 90s/00s. I have struggled with this for years to get it right. Couple of sources for good paint is either Finishers paint or Zero. You can pick up Finishers from either www.macsmodeling.com or Rainbow 10 out of Japan. I would not recommend that for your purposes. The best bet would probably be www.hiroboy.com out of england. They appear to be very good at matching the factory colors. Finally, if you really want to get accurate about it I would get your car matched by spectrum. Any good paint dealer will be able to take a reading off your car and color match. You then would select the correct paint to use, probably PPG and be set. Downside is you will most likely need to buy it in pint or quart size and pay around $100+ for it.

    Hope that helps.
