Dear all, I want to put my 348 back to original condition. the car was sold by Ferrari in December 1990 and the VIN is ZFFA35B000086341 . Do you know if .... The gear Knob is black? the underdoors and underbumpers are black? Thank you so much Marc from Luxemburg
i have seen them on ebay from time to time....most owners tend to change them to the shinier ones..also check with ricambi...they carry a lot of OEM parts....
Check EBay, I saw several listed as recent as last week or you can buy OEM from Ferrari. Also I think Ricambi sells them as well.
You can get them from here: http://www.eurospares.co.uk/searchResult_one.asp?S=103301&TM=1&TMo=434&TA=1&TB=23667
....but note that those from eurospares, whilst nice, are reproductions. I have one of the recent eurospares ones, they are close, but not quite the real thing.
True. You can get the OEM ones from there, you just have to wait and other than looking from below at the underside and the screw thread (which clearly you can't see when it's on the car) I couldn't tell the difference between my old OEM one and the one they supplied (although that was a while back so they could have changed now). If you want OEM from them you can order from here: http://www.eurospares.co.uk/newPartsList.asp?partNo=103301
The ones they now supply are different and you can tell from above as well as below (but to be fair you'd only tell if you had the original in your hand side by side). If you order OEM you will get the repro, unless you make it clear you are only happy to accept actual OEM and are prepared to wait a very long time for one to materialise. New old stock are ultra rare and even then can suffer cracking from time having passed, not through use. Eurospares list a lot of items, they don't necesarilly have them, or can even get them, and they will nowadays often be the nearest they can get hold of, not OEM. They are a great resource, but a wouldn't assume too much, having spoken with them on the phone I would advise others to not raise their hopes from what a web site list might happen to show/say.
another option to the OP is to monitor the cars being parted out by eurospare.....or place an order for a future 348 to be parted out and see if it has a black original knob.....
i just browsed through their inventory...you might be in luck......not a 348, but that's the same knob (correct me if i'm wrong) http://www.eurospares.co.uk/breaking2.asp?page=147 http://www.eurospares.co.uk/breaking2.asp?page=135 on a complete different note, there is a complete unblemished 348 (from the looks of it) being parted out....very sad....Pete, any idea why? http://www.eurospares.co.uk/breaking2.asp?page=109 and a 246....now i really want to cry!!!
The sill on the drivers side is corroding badly, the engine is incredibly dirty, the left hand intake pipe has had a very poor duct tape repair at some time, the exhaust is lop-sided, the carpets have cut-outs that look suspiciously like roll cage mounting points and the rear light grille is damaged. My monies on it having been used as a track day car that's been neglected and now the cost of repairs is more than the car is worth in parts. Be aware also that Eurospares does not update it's "Cars Breaking" page very often and so most (if not all) of the cars on the page will no longer be in one piece and loads of parts will no longer be available. The best bet is to contact them to find out what they have available.
