So my 355 (paint code Nero 1240 DS) has the usual rock chips up front, and an area of thin paint on the upper rear bumper next to the rear panel (bumper was removed for a repair, the place that painted it missed a little area that I didn't see upon pickup, and now that I've noticed it, it drives me nuts).

I've been searching the forums for recommendations, and am not quite sure what I need...my main question is regarding touching up the thin area on the bumper. It seems like I'd need to give that area a quick spray and some touch-up paint vendors like paintscratch.com offer touch up spray paint.

I'm sure it's an easy fix, probably just a little paint spritz and sand/polish, but I'm not sure what the steps exactly would be, as I've never done this. Can anybody let me know exactly how to do this? Recommended materials? Do I need to follow up with a shot of clearcoat on Nero?

The rock chips on the nose seem an easy touch up, but do I need to clearcoat those after?

    Thanks for any help.

Here's a good couple of tutorials:

Depending on the touch up paint, you would need to clear coat after.

For the bumper, take it back. You would need to (ideally remove it) sand it out, spot touch up and blend, and then clear coat it, preferably with an adhesion promoter and flex additive.

Thanks for the tutorial, that's a good one. Hadn't seen that pen thing before, I think I'll try that.

Was afraid that would be the best thing for the bumper, what sucks is the shop is 5 hours away and it's really not a big imperfection...as the car is first and foremost a driver, I should probably just learn to live with it.
