Some of you may know that recently i got a new clutch installed at 8600 miles on my 360... At that time, i also got the Challenge Stradale TCU installed. The install was done by Ferrari of Long Island. Long story short, i feel like the clutch is slipping a little more that im accustomed to. When i had my old clutch, apparently it was 109% worn but certainly never slipped as much as this one. The longest slippage is coming from a stop into 1st gear. Before anyone yells at me and says its supposed to do that, i know... HOWEVER, it is slipping a lot longer than it used to. I literally need to feather the gas until it engages fully, and thats usually when i get to about 10-15 mph. IF I DONT FEATHER IT, and want to pull away with a little more speed, it will grab faster but will produce that horrible clutch smell of burning rubber. So, the question is...Is this normal? Is there a break-in period? Will it get better? Did they install the Challenge Stradale unit incorrectly and now the PIS is not setup properly? I'm guessing the answer would be to contact the dealer and have them look at it. Just dont wanna lose another week or two in such a short season with the weather starting to break. Side note: the dealer only put about 1-2 miles on the car in their possession so i doubt they were actually driving it around and "testing" it. Thanks in advance fellas
Something is definitely wrong. I did the same as you and it's nothing but bliss. You should not be smelling the clutch by simply accelerating a little briskly.
With a new clutch at 8600 miles, I'd suspect that the flywheel was pretty abused as well. Did they replace the flywheel, resurface it, or not touch it?
Nick, very simple sir....have them set the PIS setting...it's not set aggressive enough. They should set it to where it 'creeps' then back off a touch and you're all set. This means when your foot touches the accelerator pedal it will start to engage immediately. Cheers......
I believe they also replaced the flywheel at time of the clutch replacement. Thats what was told to me by the dealer but i dont see it on the invoice..unless its in the "clutch kit" Here is a quick snippet of the invoice. Djstral - thank u, i will be sure to tell them that... Hopeefully thats all it is before i burn up a brand new clutch... Image Unavailable, Please Login
So its originally set at 4.7...Then moved around from there... when u say it needs to be more aggressive, can u be more specific, towards 3 or 6...etc Thanks
