When I bought my 328 one of the wheels looked like it had taken a shotgun blast. While cleaning the car a while back I looked at the wheel again and thought of the model paints I had.....why not? I brought out the box of old paints and it looked like Humbrol enamel #11 was a pretty good match. I wiped down the area with acetone and gave it a light sanding on the raised bits. I used a rag to apply the paint (like staining wood) and wiped it over the whole area. I was amazed how good it looked right away!

Now, after a couple months of driving, rain, a few washes, it still looks good. Not perfect, but you wouldn't notice when standing beside the car, and the price was right.
