    1) Will enamel primers/paints (Testors/Tamiya/etc...) for styrene models work on resin?

    2) Again, will the glues for styrene models work on resin?

    Thanks

    Hi Peter
    1) to my experience, yes. I use them for seats, interiours and small parts on resine models. Though I paint bodies with automotive paint.
Extremely important with resine models: carefully clean / degrease them with dish detergent and a small brush (toothbrush) or some other degreaser. Resine models often have still some kind of wax left (to part them from the casting forms). I use to rub it with some automotive paint degreaser (I don t know the english word, maybe ask a paintshop) on some cloth .
    2) I do not think so. Didn´t try it, but as far as I understood, glues for styrene dissolve the styrene for glueing. They won´t be able to do so on resine. I either use 2 compund epoxy glue or "Micro Crystal Clear" of Microscale Industries Inc.
The latter is water soluble and clear like glass. I use it especially for small parts.

Hope it helps, good luck with the models, Wolfgang

Enamel paints will work. Be sure and clean the body as noted by Singhof. Also, you need to primer the body before trying to apply paint. The enamel primer will work as well, just put on several mist coats before a good final coat.

You cannot use styrene glue on resin models. You need epoxy or super glue to stick the parts together.
