You cannot delete old pictures. The only way to get more space is to subscribe. I do not post anymore pic's unless I consider them important to solving a technical problem.

 

Subscription is the easy fix.

$15/yr for silver.

Hell a case of Iron City Beer costs more than that, and has a much nastier aftertaste.

Plus, there's a special section that only subscribed members can see, and a secret handshake, and a clubhouse, and well..... lots of cool stuff.

With all due respect, I think it's a little silly that it requires a payment to post a picture.
A lot of folks really are drawn to threads with pictures (they don't just read it for the articles!) and I think this degrades this site a little by restricting this function to those who have coughed up some dough.

I'm a member of plenty other forums (both car and non-car related) and none have this restriction.

I also take exception to the price of $15 EACH AND EVERY year. It's not a lot of money, true, but it is an annoying reminder that folks on this site generally have more fun money laying around. Am I to understand that the individuals running this site are also dinging the "ferrari crowd"? Seems to be a theme with all other aspects of ownership, why would this site be any different.



But again, my real problem is with the notion that restricting picture posting to those who pay does nothing but takes away from this site IMHO.

 

IMO (and again only my opinion, and I haven't been here over a month) when I run out of allowed space I'll subscribe. Being from a family that makes their livings in the computer software development fields, any site has running costs, it costs money to have the site up, and even more money to have the phyisical space for all of our pictures. I think that $15 a year is a small price to pay to have an environment where you can chat with people who love their cars, with people, who in my case, are driving the cars I dream about. I too am a member on a few other sites, DTMpower.net (for my cars) and artwanted.com for my art. Both of which I pay, and I believe that the service I get in return is more than worth it....


Again... just my opinion.

 

$15 is probably the smallest amount of money you'll spend on anything related to Ferrari, so this doesn't feel like a 'soak the rich' scheme. If you don't have access to that kind of cash, possibly through a home equity line of credit, it's going to be hard to buy/drive/maintain a Ferrari.

I think it's essential to charge some small amount -- and $15 is a token amount -- because it serves as a control over all the crap Internet wanderers would post if they could just drop in here at no cost.
