    Hi all

Just wondering what everyone's ideas are as to the quickest way to sell a car ?

Looking to maximise £, and minimise effort (aren't we all)

Quick turnaround could aid F-car purchase ...

    Thanks all !!!

What are you looking to sell?

I'd say the keys are realistic pricing, perfect preparation, well-placed ads.

If a specialist car, sale or return at a main dealer might be a good option as they take care of ads, px's, warranties, finance + have access to customers looking for cars.

I have an M Roadster to sell.
Thing is, it has a slight scratch on the rear 3qtr panel as some nice person keyed it for me  When the car is cleaned however, it's a gem still :)

But how good are main dealers at offering £ against an independant trader for example ?

Have a good ring round- prices offered will vary alot. FWIW, this lot http://www.independent-mc.co.uk specialise in M BMWs. Main dealers, in my experience, suck where it comes to decent trade offers.

Annoying about the scratch- I dare say someone like Chips Away (I used some guys called Car Medic to refurbish a wheel, which they did very well and quite cheaply- they do scratches too) could repair the scratch in a cost effective way. Certainly worth doing if you are selling privately.

Ah, sorry you haven't had any luck... stupid as it seems, a big for sale sign in the rear and side windows? ... just make sure the price is nice and clear or people just ignore it.

Yep, Europe was a ball - already pretty full for next year's!

The easiest way to sell your car within 7-10 days is to ensure the car is valeted inside and out perfectly (if you can't spend the time pay someone else you'll get the cash back)
Then put together a well worded and descriptive add, Compose a decent photo of the car in a good location, Price it competitvley and advertise it in both the autotrader and top marques.
Provided you get the words and pic right you'll sell it quickly for far more than you'd get from a dealer
with the exception of sorting out known mechanical problems and providing after sales care, This is pretty much all the majority of dealers do (buy cheap, advertise it properly and sell high) including the one I part own!
