    Hi Guys,

I just upgraded my BL-5000 to the SLX model. Here's a video I made of the setup...and lifting my 914. The SLX also works well with the 308. Thought I'd post the link if anyone's considering one of these.

Great job on the video. I got one last year but haven't had a chance to set it up yet.

I have one and use it for my Mondial and in winter for my GT4. Like that it is stored under the car when not in use=small garage.

    hey guys,

just got a pair of Quickjack for my other car and now my 308 has a flat tire. was hoping to use the QL to lift the 308. Any advice or does someone have video or pics of the jack points you use?

    thanks in advance!

I use the SLX-5000. The rear lifting blcok set just to the side of the factory jack point. The front on the frame member that runs at a 45 degree angle between the rocker and the front suspension.

I use them on mine. They slide right under the frame lift points between the rails and are very easy to align. Love 'em.

I found on the 308 if you run the hydrolic hoses to the front, the car is much more stable.

Just an FYI - you don't need tape on the AN fittings (the ones with the pointed nipple) it's just for pipe threads.

If you rotate the jacks through 180deg the engine weight moves towards the pivot point, rather than away from it. This makes the car more balanced on the jacks.

If you own a mid engined car and run the hoses to the rear............once its in the air push down on the rear bumper for a bit of a scare.........keep your eyes on the front of the Quick Jack!!!!!!!!!

Any reason to buy a 7000 over the 5000 Series.

Want to be able to use it for the 308, later a TR512 and my wife's BMW X3.

    Suggestions?

(PS: I am terrified of getting under a car. A friend's Dad died in front of his wife when a bus came off the jack and down on him and the rotor went thru his chest. I worked nearby his shop and heard the ambulance and hoped no one was hurt too badly. That was 45+/- years ago. My first funeral. Not fun. Still haunted a bit by it to this day.)

My gosh that is absolutely horrific. I’m also not crazy about getting under a car. I have quickjack and always put jack stands under the car

The 5000 and 7000 have the same dimensions. Difference is the 7000 is rated for 7000lbs. So if your other cars are all below 5000lbs then you can go with the 5000 version. You also want to look at the length between the lifting points because it they are too long then you need to get the accessory to make the decide longer.

The SLX is a good length for a majority vehicles including the 3x8's. The ELX tends to overrun chassis rail lengths/jacking point centre's, and hence the car wheels etc can get in the way.
I've got a 5000 SLX that I use on my 328, even my Range Rover chassis suits the SLX size more than the ELX.

Absolutely love it. I was not much of a mechanic before I got it but I figured, spend $1000 on the QJ,do some of your own maintenance and I’ll pay for it.
Between the QJ and a mechanic Buddy of mine that lives around the corner ( and YouTube) who taught me a bunch of stuff I guarantee you I’ve saved 10 times that.
Hell probably just that on brake work!

I have the 5000. Nothing I would be lifting comes close to 5000lbs, so a 7000lbs doesn't matter to me.

These things don't exactly fill me with confidence...I'd still get the heavier option.
