Hi, Hoping a generous 348 owner can answer... How wide (side to side) is the shelf behind the seats/headrests in a 348 TB/TS? Thanks.
It is approx 46" from side to side. It is actually an inch or two longer in the area closest to the seats, and an inch or two shorter in the area furthest away from the seats (closer to the engine). I measured it right in the middle and it came to 46" The area that is visible, between the seats, is 10"
Thanks! Looks like the search might be on to upgrade from my 308 to a 348. It's a crazy reason, but why I asked was to see if golf clubs can fit back there. Thanks again.
I would not put golf clubs there for a variety of reasons: 1: They won't fit unless they are all loose. In a walking bag, it would be a tight/messy fit. 2: Rear view will be badly obstructed 3: Insanely dangerous in the event of an accident. They would be mini-missiles, for sure. 4: Likely interference with shoulder belt movement. 5: Clubs WILL fit in the passenger seat, in a light walking bag. I've done, they fit fine. Get a 348, they're fantastic cars! But, please don't put golf clubs on the tiny little parcel shelf. About the only thing suited for that area is a small jacket or similar soft item.
You don't. Much safer to use Stella Artois. You really don't want to get stopped in a superior car with an inferior beer.
1. Yes, exactly....loose. When we travel we take the sunday/cloth bag to save space 2. Who cares what is behind you...?? 3. See #2 (BTW...I've carried my clubs on my back, on my Harley to the golf course 4. I don't wear seat belts 5. Occupied by my lovely wife...see off topic thread "who has the hottest legs" Elkhart Lake cuttoffs Now trying to be serious.... I know it's petty, but Golf is a big factor in our life and our travels. I can carry 2 sets of clubs + luggage for 4-7 days in my 308, my 94 Esprit and both my 66 corvettes. Based on the measurements, I'm sure I can fit our clubs (safely) behind the seats and luggage up front in a 348. I just got this 94 Esprit this spring, and it has made my 2V 308 feel old, slow and out of date. I don't want to leave the Ferrari camp (as I've been there for 12 years and it was the car of my dreams), but I don't seem to have reason to bring the 308 out of the garage when it can't meet our needs (travel). Hope that makes sense on some level. Thanks for the input.
I'm a brown water guy... and one small 750ml bottle of the good stuff (Knob/Makers/Woodford/1792/Beam Black) doesn't take up that much space and holds me over for a couple of days
