According to a thread in Technical Q&A, someone in Australia has a 308 GT4 with a carb'd QV engine in it.

Is it someone who's a regular poster on here?

Would like any info or advice please as it's something I'm considering for my 208.

    Thanks in advance.

Dan, gva in Melbourne was the one who said he knows of it so if you PM him he may have the info.

But I seem to remember him saying the conversion was worth more than the car.

I have an entire engine/gbox/diff ready to drop in from my 74 308gt4 if your interested ?

Yep, drove that car around 5 years ago when I was looking for a GT4. It's silver/grey with red interior (ex british car) and ex dean wills car.

It has a QV engine with Lambo Weber carbs.
Frankly, I didn't find it that fast. It ran great, but I think my standard GT4 is just as fast

Don't know about the 4 valve head and carbs really. Don't know if they suited eachother or worked well on that car, although the engine was very smooth. It had everything done on it, and it looked great.

Anyway, I wouldn't touch that car, it's had more people in it than Paris.
I am sure it will turn up for sale again, it always does. I think I have the chassis number somewhere, as I was recording every car I test drove at that time.

Hi Dan, I know the mechanic who fitted the carb 308QV into a GT4. I was involved in fitting a 308QV (injected) into a 308GT4. If you require details let me know. Regrads Graeme

Thanks for the responses guys. Sounds like there's not a huge advantage to fitting a QV engine over a standard 308 engine, plus it's probably going to be cheaper just to buy a 308 GT4 in the first place. There's currently one in the UK on ebay for £10,750 "buy it now" price.
