    Hi all,
So my 83 QV engine is completely striped down, so my question.
Can I use the JE pistons #36226 which state "Bore-3.209" with steel liners 1st oversize which equals 3.2087"?' Or do I need the second oversize steel liner?
I have never tried using after market pistons, so I am not sure what the specifications actually mean.
    Thanks
    Jeff

What does your current bore measure?

Why steel liners - is there something wrong with the original Nikasil-coated aluminum liners?

JE does not make high compression pistons in std bore size, hence the question of which bore size liner to go with their pistons.

Mate, while you're in there, go as big as possible in bore size, and as high as possible in CR. I know that the CIS doesn't like wild cams, but I think high CR is OK - perhaps an expert can chime in here. Anyway, if you're going to put new pistons and liners in, you might as well get some free horsepower.

I am using Jenvey ITB's with EFI, and ignition. Will sort out the cam situation once I figure out the piston/liner issue.
My problem is I do not know how to spec. the correct piston o.d. with the correct liner i.d..
    Can anyone lend guidance?
