The original advert is in Italian and it turns out that, similar to French, the Italian for "The spark plugs" is: le candele, as stated in the advert. (That's taught Me something I didn't know! ).

French is MAINLY based on vulgar roman, but not only...as with most langages, there are some other influences as well, mainly greek and celtic.
