While his success with the Red Bull drinks may not be very moving, his involvement in motorsport will be remembered. R.I.P. Mister Mateschitz.

He did an awful lot of good for F1. Rescued Minardi, build a fantastic team out of jaguar...lets not forget he started his sponsorship of Sauber 10 years prior to becoming a team owner! A great story.

His sponsorship of racing drivers and athetes enabled careers of 100s if not 1000s. He did a fantastic amount of charity, too.

    What a loss.

    RIP Dietrich.

Red Bull is always unfairly criticize for its driver management.
But how many would have reached Formula One without Mateschitz ?
He gave to a lot of drivers a chance in a highly competitive sport.
    Huge respect for him.

Don't forget that he also brought the Austrian Grand Prix back to life by buying and rebuilding what is now the Red Bull Ring. And there has been discussion of restoring part of the old Oesterreichring circuit, which would make it better (IMO).

And think about the huge variety of Red Bull-sponsored activities. The Red Bull Air Races have created an entirely new style of the sport, and several years ago I watched a Red Bull Soapbox Race here in Atlanta! Just pick up a copy of "The Red Bulletin" and you'll see the scope of Red Bull's involvement in entertainment and sports.

Not many people can claim such a global impact as Red Bull has achieved in the realm of consumer brands. What an absolutely amazing life achievement. Moreover he absolutely changed motorsports forever and gave an incredible number of drivers opportunities they could have never imagined. Certainly one of the great contributors to the sport we love. RIP

Red Bull is in EVERYTHING. They sponsor so many niche programs, stunts, racing, etc. Never understood the hate for anything Red Bull given their support to areas most companies would scoff at. Hopefully the board continues to support this spending. F1 is likely safe(for now) since it's reach is quite large.

    He will be missed.

Mr. Mateschitz was also the driving force behind the Wings for Life spinal research organization, a venture potentially even more significant than his impressive forays into the world of sport.

He definitely enjoyed a varied and achievement-filled life. We should all be so fortunate.

    Best Regards,
    Paul

Among the niches that RedBull is in, they do more to promote F1 than F1 itself at there own expense.....more than any F1 team currently as well.
