    You'll get this not just on the R35 but the R34 too, tuned it can waste a 360 on the straights. You pay your money and choose your power on a GT-R. The original RB26DETT engine block was designed without Computer Aided Design (CAD) so designers significantly over-engineered it. It can handle up to 1200hp.
    Standard car only came with around 330hp (officially 280hp) but this was because of a gentleman's agreement with the Japanese government who didn't want power wars with the manufacturers. (The Japanese have a 112mph speed limited fitted on all production cars). Just changing the exhaust automatically raised boost pressure of the twin turbo's and generated around 380hp without any other mod's!

    Lets look at what your money buys you;
    1. $15K to get 450hp on an R34 GT-R
    2. $25k to get 550hp on an R34 GT-R
    3. $35k to get 650hp on an R34 GT-R
    4. $45k to get 700hp on an R34 GT-R
    5. $60k to get 800hp+ on an R34 GT-R
    (all prices are approximates)

    You'll never see those extreme kind of power output out of an aluminum block as found in the 360, even when fitted with turbo's your max-ing out at 600-ish hp due to heat dissipation problems, particularly attributed to the mid-engine configuration and of course the engine block would probably melt. I wouldn't be surprised if that GT-R in the video was at Stage 3 (650hp) vs the Ferrari with around 350-360hp@Wheels. With over 300hp more raw grunt its hardly surprising that GT-R could so easily cruise on past on the straights. Never under-estimate the R34 GT-R, I've owned one in the past and they are seriously quick cars and almost all cars are tuned to some level.

    Yes, The new GT-R is 480HP, so it still with a 3.5 0-60 time (vs 400HP and 4.4 or so on a 360), so I do not see why it's so amazing. If you are looking for cars that are fastest around a track, Ferrari is not the first thing that should come to mind (flame suit on!). There are P-Cars, Z06, ZR-1, Viper ACR, the GT-R and other cars that can outrun most F-cars for far less money. There are plenty of good reasons to buy an F-Car, but the numbers are no longer one of them or the most part.

    Shumdit, how true indeed!

    I ran P-cars for years until I was smoked by 'cheap' Jap cars - Suburu, Evo etc. I then looked at alternative 'faster' cars...however the truth was for sheer drag race, any car can be beaten by these 'modern hacked' cars. It is all down to the software bundled with these 'cheap' cars - they are heartless but FAST!

    So, for me in essesnce I buy what I like and enjoy it. I no longer look at the numbers much...sure I may own a fast car - but there will always be a faster 'cheap' import from the Far East. What I do know though is this...I won't swap my car keys for a 'cheap' hacked car even if the owner of such car threw in his wife as part of the deal!!!

    As many have already said, that video is hardly surprising.. Of course the GT-R will beat the 360 on straights!

    Totally different class of car. A Nissan can never play with your emotions the way a Ferrari does. My el-cheapo 300ZX will outrun a 360 in the straights, but many of today's cars will, especially modified. Power really means nothing nowadays unless you're a hardcore drag racer or someone who has nothing to lose. Anyone on here who owns a C6 Corvette Z06 + an exotic will most likely agree on this.
