I just read the news on Formula1.com - the stewards reviewed data and tapes and saw no reason for the incident. All of his times were wiped out and so the F cars will start 21 and 22.

I really doubt that eMailing anyone will make a difference. If I were Montezemolo, I would pack up and get ready for the next race. MSs chances of winning from the back of the grid are nil, even scoring points is going to be difficult. The best protest would be to withdraw.

F1 is really turning into NASCAR! How in God's name can anyone, race stewards included, determine that he DELIBERATELY locked his wheels and stalled the engine? Even if he did, conclusive proof should be presented before a season-altering decision is made. I saw him motion to track stewards to back him out of the wall, not exactly the body english of someone content to sit there and let the time expire...

These things happen all the time, and positions are affected. Ferrari were complaining about a lack of grip after Thursday's session, witness Massa's off track excursion.

That's a BS call for them to make, I agree - I say Ferrari should toss 'em the finger, and them make like Ludacris and "roll out.."

    A) emailing them wont make a lick of difference

    B) There are just as many people - actually more - that are happy about the move as are against it

    C) Its not about what group as more whining in it, it's about what the stewards think is the correct action. If they feel they took the correct action (and I am sure they did), no quantity of emails will change that

    D) THERE IS ALREADY 2 THREADS GOING ABOUT THIS TOPIC!

Yep. I am already tired of seeing Alonso win too much. I don't want to see any one person run away with the championship. If poor Kimi could have better luck and a better car he should be right there. Starting dead last at Monaco, even MS would be lucky to be in the points at all. Alonso is almost sure to win again.

I must say, on various forums, the MS haters are having a field day. I think it's bogus, I do not believe it was his intention to stop and prevent Alonso from taking pole. And now all the Alonso groupies are going to say he is a better driver than MS, I don't believe that either, and I definitely don't think he will match Michael's career.

Dude... are you high? F-1 could care less about fans.... and ITV... they dont care either...I watched it and it seems really convienient to have this happen and no damage... but I really dont think he did it on pourpose... If I were him and Ferrari I would refuse to start, and pull out of F-1 with immediate effect... and go to Indy Cars... or sports cars... I know they will not... but the statement would fix things - I think ... at a minimum I would protest to the world motor sport court...and no matter who wins the results would be provisional... I think its up to the stewards to PROVE he did it on puropse... or else now you cant make a mistake? in qualifying??? ... it really is a farce! F-1 is being manipulated like WWF... its about the same now except the F-1 folks have expensive taste... instead of being red necks!

Decision has been made, let's move on and let the race begin tomorrow. The season is not lost yet, let's move on. Even if this year ends in defeat, at least loose with dignity and grace. Ferrari and the Tifosi will and should not whine about this like a bunch of 2 year olds, FIA has that department covered with some of the team principles already. Who knows, MS just may write another chapter in the F1 record book as the only driver to win at Monaco starting from the very last position. We are Tifosi and we will support our team no matter what.

Intially I was pretty sure he didn't it on purpose but I must say it really could have been either way. The penality was far too harsh to boot. Since this isn't even a race really and cbs has dreadful commentators I believe I'll be skipping this one. I hate to miss a race but watching ferrari's run behind super aguri's isn't my idea of entertainment.

Don't give away racing results in thread titles!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new F1 season is upon us and we're all excited about it. But please: Don't give away results in the thread titles.

This morning I merged 3 threads related to qualifying in Bahrain into one. I hate to do that because it kinda kills off the individual threads, but they were all related to the same event/story and had spoilers in their titles. A fourth thread I left alone, but edited the title.

    So:
    1. Before starting a new thread, check whether there is already an existing one.
    2. If your thread is about a current race, use a neutral title and add "SPOILER WARNING" to the title.
    3. If somebody finds a thread giving away results, notify the racing mods.

i just would like to congratulate the FIA and stewards for handing the win to FA. i seriously think the FIA was influeced by some team's comments. i wonder what would have happened if ide did it? or sato? or kimi? or fernando himself. this is just madness. how can u punish a simple error like that?

Based on whatever he wants to base it on. He saw the incident and he has his opinion on what happened as I am sure you have yours. You may disagree with him but there is no need to belittle him.

Yes he is. I am not questioning his opinion of if it was intentional or an accident. But making the statement that the FIA handed Alonso an F1 title ignores his talent and his speed this year. And that's assuming he wins it.
