Hi All, Neeed racedeck or similar for about 450SQ/ft garage in HKG. I did a look on Lockhart Rd and then over on Reclamation Road Kowloon side and had no joy in finding anything. I see a few places in Shenzhen selling it but they won't sell less that 1080 sq/ft minimum. Anyone in Hong Kong bought garage floor tiles here?
So nobody in Hong Kong has used interlocking tiles on their garage floor then? Guess I'm off to mainland China : ) I really miss the enthusiasts car scene that HKG just doesn't have.
perhaps internet shopping would be your best option...atleast you could have them mailed to your place...
I really doubt that any members of the HK enthusiast car scene would have the remotest clue about where to buy garage flooring and would be uninclined to ask their minder to ask a contractor where he purchased the flooring in their garage. Just because you asked a question that had a low probability of reply, don't leap to conclusions - HK has a fantastic enthusiast car scene
HK is a totally different market to NZ. I imagine we have the highest concentration of Fs, Lambos, Porsches, RRs etc in the world. However, due to the size of HK, not many people owned a house with a garage. Most would live in a high-rise or condo as known elsewhere. Cars are kept in a common area and thus the owners would have no say re the the flooring material which is concrete usually!! If u care to check out the thread re HK exotics, I am sure U will realise what are being bought here. In both LHDs/RHDs.
Well they always said Monaco has highest density for Ferrari and Hong Kong has highest density for Mercedes. However, after having been to Monaco several times, I honestly believe Hong Kong beats Monaco for #'s of Ferrari per sq-km.
Having only lived in HKG for the past 10 years I suppose I'm not informed enough to comment. I am sure that somewhere in Sai Kung or the like there are a bunch of people with garages that have plastic flooring down and actually work on their own cars. My aim was to try to find that someone who's is tinkering away in their garage and did know somewhere in Hong Kong to get the stuff. Yes I have ordered off a factory in Shenzhen but would have prefered buying in Hong Kong so I know what I am getting. Didn't mean to tread on anyones toes and yes I appreciate that most apt car parking in HKG forbids you from actually working on the car. And I wasn't for a minute saying that just because you haven't ever even looked at the engine that doesn't make you any less of an enthusiast. DM18 - So the helper is involved with the contractor in organising the garage layout. That sounds like a true car enthusiast.
Offered you a comment based on my experience. Take it as you wish. There is a difference between a helper and a minder. I am sure you know that after 10 years...
