Was a 330GTC ever used in either racing or rallying? I'm virtually certain there was never a factory entry, but I'm curious if there was ever a privateer.

Hello, Jack. As far as I know, there was never a GTC campaigned in any sort of competition but that does not mean it hasn't happened somewhere!
I've owned mine since 1975 and have read every article that I could find about the model. I've driven it in well over 30 track events, at Lime Rock, Watkins and Mid-Ohio. While it was fun to play with, I would imagine that extensive changes would be needed to make it a viable competition car.
The brakes are adequate for street use but being solid discs, they tend to fade when repeatedly stopping or slowing this somewhat heavy car. I'm pretty sure that all the subsequent cars, in 12, 8 and 6 cylinders, had vented rotors. I would think that considerable weight could be removed by gutting the interior and removing accessories like A/C and stereo.
Regarding the driveline - I can't say enough (good) about it - I drive mine regularly and it's always a pleasure.
I'm not sure if there was ever a "worked" version of the engine for serious competition in another chassis/body combination - can anyone out there add to this?
    Hope this helps!
