From someone who's gone from the top down, I found it pretty funny. However, there is another pyramid in racing: those that can make a living out of it, and those that pay for it. I've gotten well past my prime, and now do track days (motorcycle) for the adrenalin fix that I need.

What I found as I got older, is that I still have one good lap in me. I can run one competitive lap, but can't do it more than one without hurting myself (I'm 20 years past my last competitive race), however, it is fun to go out on a track day, and just smoke everyone there for one lap. LOL

I take my hat off to the rally guys too, but if we are measuring cojones, one would surely have to include motorcycles. The very top guys running the Isle of Man TT are AVERAGING 130mph on real roads. And as I believe I posted elsewhere, they either have very large stones- or very small brains. :)

Anyone know what Doug Hayashi is up to these days? I used to love the NSXfiles. The Pyramid of Speed has become a classic. "Cone-Dodgers" never fails to crack me up.

    Humorous analysis!

I've gone through the top portion of the pyramid and it is a night and day difference going from TT to W2W racing.
    W2W is pure exhilaration!
